Two small children and an infant from Mount Vernon, Illinois were injured in a car accident on Highway 71 just south of Nevada, Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the children were taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment of their moderate injuries. The driver of the car apparently lost control of the vehicle while rounding a curve. The car overturned.

According to the traffic crash report, Marcus Aschwege, 19, was driving a 2006 Mercury and Garry Mayberry, 50, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet at the time of the accident. A Dupo, Illinois woman was at Barnes Pipe and Steel having large steel pipes loaded into her truck when suddenty, the weight shifted in the truck and a 30 foot long steel pipe fell on the lady’s legs. The pipe, estimated to weigh at least half a ton, crushed at least one of her legs – maybe both. Early this morning, a tractor trailer semi-truck ran off I-55 and flipped onto its side. KMOV has reported that the car that plunged into River Des Peres last week contained a 7 month-old infant boy. His father, 24 years old, drove the car into the river – the circumstances of the crash are still unknown. The driver is still in critical condition.
