On September 13, 2010, two people were injured following an automobile accident that happened on Highway 13 near Reeds Spring.

A Dupo, Illinois woman was at Barnes Pipe and Steel having large steel pipes loaded into her truck when suddenty, the weight shifted in the truck and a 30 foot long steel pipe fell on the lady’s legs. The pipe, estimated to weigh at least half a ton, crushed at least one of her legs – maybe both. According to KSDK, Southbound I-55 in Macoupin County Illinois was shut down for several hours following an accident on the roadway. Early this morning, a tractor trailer semi-truck ran off I-55 and flipped onto its side. KMOV has reported that the car that plunged into River Des Peres last week contained a 7 month-old infant boy. His father, 24 years old, drove the car into the river – the circumstances of the crash are still unknown. The driver is still in critical condition.
