A jury in Philadelphia found that a woman’s cancer was caused by Prempro, a hormone-replacement drug. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals was ordered to pay the woman, Connie Barton, $75 million in punitive damages. Last month, the jury awarded Barton $3.75 million in compensatory damages.
The jury found that Wyeth knew of the cancer link and failed to disclose the link to the public. Barton’s case is one of a handful of Prempro lawsuits to go to trial out of several thousand filed across the country. As St. Louis injury attorneys, our firm handles Prempro injury cases.
