The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the three-vehicle accident that took place Thursday night in Tower resulted in an injury and a DWI arrest. One of the three drivers was headed South on County Road 77 when she made a left turn on Everett Bay Road. At that time, she was rear-ended by a gentleman from Cook. This individual’s vehicle rolled, striking the northbound vehicle of a different man, of Minnesota. The at-fault driver was arrested at the scene and charged with DWI and criminal vehicular operation. In total, seven people were involved in the accident and all three vehicles suffered extensive damage. Luckily, only the female driver headed South on 77 was injured. She was treated at the scene and released.
It is not uncommon for individuals involved in traffic accidents to either be treated at the scene and released or not treated at all. This happens because oftentimes, the individual is in shock immediately following the accident and he/she doesn’t think he is hurt or doesn’t fully realize the extent of his injuries at that time. If you are involved in an automobile accident, even though you may feel like you are not injured or capable of driving away from the scene, you should be thoroughly evaluated by the medical personnel called to the scene. In the event that you are sent him following the accident, it is always a good idea to immediately follow up with your primary care physician. It is likely that you will develop aches and pains following the trauma which may resolve on their own but should be evaluated by a doctor.
As a St. Louis Missouri car crash lawyer, I handle all types of automobile accident cases including those caused by drunk drivers and those involving trucks, semis, pedestrians, and bicycles.
