On September 13, 2010, two people were injured following an automobile accident that happened on Highway 13 near Reeds Spring.
According to the traffic crash report, Marcus Aschwege, 19, was driving a 2006 Mercury and Garry Mayberry, 50, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet at the time of the accident. A deadly school bus accident that took place in mid-August is being attributed to the bus driver’s inattention and close following distance. Two students were killed as a result of the deadly Missouri school bus accident on I-44. This particular interstate has faced similar accidents before as a result of traffic back-up. Toyota Motor Corp. has recalled approximately eight million vehicles due to defects with the accelerators malfunctioning and forcing vehicles to speed off out of control, causing motorist injuries and deaths. As a result of these injuries and deaths, consumers are filing numerous lawsuits against Toyota.
