KSDK reported that an elderly Flora, Illinois woman was attacked by a dog early Monday and died later that same day. The victim, identified as 85-year-old Rosie L. Humphries, was walking her dog when she was attacked by a pit bull. The attacking dog mauled both Ms. Humphries and her dog. Consumer safety officials reported that dropside cribs made by Stork Craft are dangerous and should not be used. The cribs have defective hardware that causes the dropside of the crib to detach and create a space between the wall and mattress. A jury in Philadelphia found that a woman’s cancer was caused by Prempro, a hormone-replacement drug. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals was ordered to pay the woman, Connie Barton, $75 million in punitive damages. Last month, the jury awarded Barton $3.75 million in compensatory damages.

From 2005 to 2007, the United States imported drywall from China due to a domestic shortage caused by the active hurricane seasons. Since that time, there have been nearly 2100 reports of rotten smell, failed appliances, illness, corroded pipes and wires.
